Students Receive Harrington Scholar Grants
Three Lubbock ISD seniors were recently selected to receive the prestigious Don and Sybil Harrington Scholarship. Students were selected on the basis of their academic achievements and determination to succeed as Harrington Scholars as they purse degrees in mathematics, science or engineering. LISD-TV Set to Cover May 25-26 Graduations
Commencement exercises for Lubbock ISD seniors have been scheduled for Friday, May 25, and Saturday, May 26, and will take place in the United Spirit Arena on the Texas Tech University campus. Click here for schedule.
Council PTA-Scholarship Winners and End-of-Year Awards
The Lubbock ISD Council of PTAs announced the PTA scholarship student winners at the spring awards luncheon on May 10. Each scholarship recipient plans to enter the teaching profession and received $1,000 to put toward their education. End-of-Year awards were also given. Click here to read more in the E-Reporter.
Summer Reading Challenge 2012
Lubbock ISD presents the Summer Reading Challenge for all students, faculty and staff. This challenge is meant to encourage and motivate students and adults to read for pleasure throughout the summer months. Final Exam Times for Seniors:  All senior students who are not exempt from their final exams will attend class on Monday May 21st (1st-4th) and Tuesday May 22nd (5th-8th) to take their final exams.

Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors

Don't Forget Your Senior Party Tickets!
Seniors it is time to get ready to party!  The senior parents will begin selling passes to the after graduation all night party at the Texas Tech Recreation Center.  Please make sure you have all the necessary forms that were mailed to your homes and be sure they have all information including the parental signatures.  If you have lost your forms, extras are available in the main office.  Passes will be sold May 8th through 10th in the morning in front of the Black and Gold Store.  Senior tickets are $20 and Junior tickets are $25 pre-sale.  For more information, visit the website by clicking <HERE> (this site is not maintained by LISD or Lubbock High).
Western Knights to Host First Chess Tournament!
The LHS Western Knights Chess Club will host an open tournament for Lubbock High Students on Saturday, May 19th.  Tournament play will take place from 9am to 2pm in the Cafeteria.  Registration is free and we will sell pizza and cokes at the tournament to raise funds.  The first place winner will receive a prize and ribbons will be awarded for other places.  Bring a friend and enjoy a day of competitive chess!

Coach Strunk to Host Westerner Football Camp!
Heads up Football Fans...Varsity Football Coach Jason Strunk and the Lubbock High Varsity Football team will host a summer camp for all players entering grades 2 through 9 in August 2012.  The camp will take place at Chapman Field July 16-19th and each participant will receive a t-shirt.  For more information you may download our flyer by clicking <HERE>.

LHS Choir Students Prepare for State Competition!
Attention Choir Students...Don't while a way those summer hours doing nothing.  Sign up for Choir Camp at Texas Tech University.  This is especially important if you plan on auditioning for state!  The camp at Texas Tech will run from June 27th through June 30th.  For more information please contact Robin Dent at rdent@lubbockisd.org.
LHS Spring Library Calendars are Available!
Attention Library Users!  The Lubbock High Library Calendars are now available.  Please note that during the spring there are many days the Library is closed for mandatory testing.  You will not be able to access the library before school or during school on those days.  If you need computer access for research papers, please plan accordingly.  Click on one of the links to access the calendar for March, April or May.
