Council PTA Names Scholarship and Campus Award Recipients
The Lubbock ISD Council of PTAs announced the PTA scholarship student winners at the Spring Awards Luncheon on May 16. The council also announced the end-of-year PTA awards. Click here to read more.
LISD Retirement Banquet Scheduled
The LISD Retirement Banquet will be Thursday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the Jay Gordon Room of Central Office. The Human Resources Department generates a list of retirees from those employees who have turned in their retirement paperwork after the 2012 Retirement Banquet. Employees who plan to retire and would like to attend the retirement banquet should contact Aretha Metcalf by calling 766-1138 or by email.
LISD-TV Set to Cover May 31 - June 1 Graduations
Commencement exercises for Lubbock ISD seniors have been scheduled for Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1, and will take place in the United Spirit Arena on the Texas Tech University campus. Back to school information for 2013 - 2014 can be found by clicking here. Personnel are available at every LISD campus to assist parents and facilitate the enrollment process. Families new to Lubbock should consult the attendance boundary zone maps on this website under the Parents pull-down menu. Check back often for updates.
UIL Teams and Individuals Bound for State
University Interscholastic League (UIL) academic teams and individuals from Lubbock HS will be representing Lubbock ISD at the state UIL academic competition, May 21-22. LHS students won the regional UIL meet in April and will be sending a math team, a science team and a current events team and two individual competitors in number sense and computer science to state.
GT Professional Development Opportunities

Ticket sales for the Sr. Celebration 2013 all-night party have started and will be held each Wed, Thurs & Fri through the remainder of May. Tickets will be sold at the Black & Gold store during two shifts: 7:45 - 8:15 and during all three lunch periods.  Make plans to buy your tickets in advance!
Student Parking Sign-up!

Attention Westerners!!!! Parking permit lottery registration will be this week for next years’ Seniors and Juniors only.  The forms and the registration box are located on the front counter in the front office.

LHS TESTING AND ASSIGNMENTS SCHEDULE



In order to prevent students from having multiple major assignments or tests due on the same day now that the eight-period schedule has been implemented, Lubbock High has implemented the following TESTING SCHEDULE.
 

English – Monday / Tuesday
Science – Tuesday / Wednesday

Social Studies – Wednesday / Thursday
M
ath – Thursday / Monday
Electives – any day necessary


MAJOR grades include projects, summative assessments, unit tests, district assessments, or other assessments which require multiple concepts which take most of the class period.
  Common Formative Asssessments, short quizzes, or other formative assessments which are 10-15 minutes may be given at any time.  District Assessments may be given on Friday or the scheduled test day above.
Lubbock High faculty members have been instructed to follow this schedule for their respective subjects.
